May the Fourth Be With You

May the Fourth Be With You

May the Fourth Be With You

May the Fourth be with you. And also with you. We’re big Star Wars fans here. Well, Hunny is. I tag along. And across my nearly five years of blogging for Jones Natural Chews, Star Wars images have shown up here with some irregularity. So naturally I’m taking advantage of May the Fourth. Say hi to my little Chewy, truly short for Chewbacca.

Chewbacca/Yoda says, "May the Fourth be with you"
Two seconds later, this thing was off his head and on the floor. My dogs all hate things on their heads. Even for a Jones Natural Chew.

Yeah, I named the cats Beyonce and Velveeta. Hunny named the dog Chewbacca. *sigh* There’s just no safe place as a pet in my house. Ask the duck, Little Jimmy Dickens. Gadget was truly fortunate that he came with his name.

No Dog Named Yoda

The dogs should all be glad that none of them are named Yoda. Chewbacca got a cute nickname in Chewy. There’s no real nickname for Yoda. At least Beyonce is BeBe, and my daughter calls Velveeta Cheddar Butt. Patches, however, is auditioning for the part of Yoda. She’s certainly old and wise.

Patches says, May the Fourth be with you
Poor dear. The treats worked for about five seconds. Maybe. May the Fourth be with you.

I doubt that, at 15 years old, we’ll be changing her name. And I can’t tell you how many Jones Natural Chews I used to bribe this lot into keeping that thing on their heads long enough for a photo. Flash outright refused, regardless of the treat. Stinker. But he did pose with the headpiece a few years ago …

Australian Yoda
Flash sat very still with his Yoda ears. Wise he is, Reverent he is. Yoda he is.

Where Can You Find The Yoda Ears?

I know you’re asking. I got these, several years back, at a dog blogging conference. See? They’re now available at PetSmart, along with a host of other StarWars related things for pets.

Norman the Scooter dog and his friend Yoda
This is Norman the Scooter Dog and, I think, Pepper Pom? No, I don’t think that’s Pepper. But Yoda walked out of the frame as soon as I’d snapped this shot.

We all had a ton of fun with the StarWars props. Oh! And speaking of conferences, I’ll be attending BlogPaws in two weeks! Will you be there? None of the dogs will be with me, but I’ll be hanging out with Louie the French Dog. In fact, Karen is making custom collars for my dog, as well as a bow tie for Jimmy the Duck. He looks absolutely smashing in a bow tie. And there will be Jones Natural Chews in the swag bags.

Don’t be sad if you can’t make it to BlogPaws this year. You have the opportunity to win your very own Jones Natural Chews right here, right now! We’re giving some lucky dog Chicken Blend and Beef Blend Bark Burgers! Six and seven ingredients per treat, they’re large, flat burgers, mostly meat, that are 100% all natural, and 100% grown and made in the USA. Your dog will do practically anything for them. In fact – DOH! – I should have used them as enticement for this morning’s May the Fourth be with you photo shoot. Maybe I’d have snapped better photos, dang it. If you’d like to win them for your dog, simnply click this sentence, leave a comment on the new blog post, then click the box to click, I Commented. Easy. And your dog will thank you. As do I.

Question: Is there anything in particular you’d like me to learn while at BlogPaws and convey here? Any new dog product I can ask about or try out, should it be there? I’ll do my best if you make requests now. That’s part of the fun!

Spreading the good chews …

P.S. There are also two giveaways happening on our Instagram account – @JonesChews
